Comissioned and world premiered by Northern Sinfonia, UK. Composed in 2001/02, premiered on MAY 1st. 2002 in Cityhall New Castle.
Dedicated to the soloist of the premiere, Peter Francomb. Conductor of the premiere: Thierry Fischer.

dem auch dieses Konzert gewidmet ist und Thierry Fischer am Dirigierpult.

Commissioned and world premiered by Evelyn Glennie and Northern Sinfonia, UK. Composed in 1999/2000, premiered on Feb. 17 2000 in Reading UK.
Since than,  world wide performances in London, Rom, Switzerland, Northern Ireland etc... 
Set-up for the soloist is the nearly the SAME as for "The Castle of the mad King" only using Vibraphone instead of crotales. (see picture in the set-up gallery)

Composed 1985/86 for a full symphony (triple woodwind and brass) and 4 1/2 Oct. marimba   Total duration ca.26 minutes.

Composed 1996/97, for a full symphony (double woodwind and brass)  and 5 Oct. marimba. World premiere in Munich, Herkulessaalon on April 8 1997, with NJZ as soloist and Munich Symphony Orchestra. Total duration 26 minutes, here: two minutes of each movement, to give you and idea of the music.
Komponiert 1997, dur. ca. 26 min. für 5-oktavige Marimba und Sinfonieorchester,zweifaches holz und Blech. 

Slow introduction and beginning of camel groove ( ca. 2 min. need RealOne player)       from Reh,.# 31.. CADENZA and Ending (3:47, need RealOne player)
Composed in winter 2002/03 comisioned by  a consortium of 13 USA-Universities, lead by Glen Adsit and Benjamin Toth from Hartt School of Music, Univ. Of Hartford, CT.  
Premiered by Ben Toth as soloist and Glen Adsit conducting the Hart School wind ensemble.  The piece has consists of two divisions, each subdivided in smaller sections. 
After a  very quite introduction in "Balkans" mode, the "camel groove"  starts in Marimba...  the second division involves a lot of percussion and ends in one furious stretta... 
Here two exerpts from the world premiere performance , with Benjamin Toth as soloist. 
Aiftragswerk von 13 USA -Hochschulen. Uraufgeführt in Hartford USA , am 27. April 2003 mit Benjamin Toth als SOloist und Glen Adsit als Dirigenten.  
Ein Konzertstück für Percussion und Blaßorchester. Anbei sind 2 Beisipiele vom Anfang sowie ein Teil der Kadenz mit der Schlusstretta.... 

CHAMBER MUSIC / Kammermusik:

Comissioned by Boston Conservatory Percussion Ensemble and Patrick Hollenbeck, director. World premiered in Boston on November 7. 2002
This composition is using almost the same set-up as the "Uneven souls",  with the adition of few metal sounds (Glockenspiel, Vibraphone and Crotales)
Conceived in two part, the slow "Lamento"  melodic lament, introducing a contemplative metal sounds "sky music" played over low marimba rolls,  which builds
slowly and at its climax lead into the barbaric dance, full of uneven and energetic grooves. In this dance marimba is more a part of the  group than having realy solistic part.
Auftragswerk des Boston Conservatory  Percussion ensemble und deren Leiter Patrick Hollenbeck. Uraufgeführt in Boston am 7.Nov. 2002. 
Diese zweitelige Komposition, beginnt mit einem sehr ruhigem  "Lamento". Nach dem Eröffnungsthema in der Marimba erklingen die kristallklare Töne des Glockenspiels, 
Crotales und des mit Holzschlägeln gespielten Virbraphons, über dem Ostinato der Marimba wie leuchtende Sterne am dunklem Himmel. Die Musik verdichtet sich und wächst in immer kräftigern "Wellen"  bis es schliesslich in einem metallernem  Klang (Becken/Tam-Tam)  zum Höhepunkt kommt. Im Nachklang der Becken bohrt sich der donnernde Schlag der Großen Trommel und der wilde barbarische Tanz  beginnt.  In diesem  zweiten Teil des Werkes ist die Marimba mit Absicht eher ein Teil des Ensembles als ein solistisch behandeltes Instrument, - und trägt somit zur Steigerung der Homogenität und Intensität der "danza barbara" bei.

A "Symphony" for two pianos and two percussionists.     Duration ca.25'  Exotic sounds and energetic percussion. From water drums
over all Mallet instruments and even one cooking pan,  to djembe, - a wide range of masterly used percussive sounds.
Eine Sinfonie für 2 Klaviere und 2 Percussionisten könnte man es nennen. 25 min. Lang.  Mit stillen meditativen Klängen oder Wasserkaskaden...
vom Backblech, über  Wasser-trommeln und Stabspiele bis hin zur Djembe... eine Breite Palette der Klänge.

A collection of 4 informal and independent pieces, and one "very formal" and obligatory Encore::))  Fun to play, very challenging music for the pianist. 
Check for example No.2  or no.5,  but also the quite ones... Suitable for any piano solo recital, or pieces separate, for an encore. 
Eine Sammlung von 4 gänzlich unverbindlichen Stücke, z.T. virtuos, und ideal für ein Solorecital. Eine etwas ironisch gedachte Musiksprache, und natürlich mit einer "Pflichtzugabe" dabei, die jedoch gar nicht so Spritzig ist wie man von einer Zugabe erwartet.
